HEATBEAT çddf, faa, afa, aaf, faf, ffa, aff ¢ HEATBEAT/CNCD ³Comments From the studio musician, ¹Andreas Stenhager: I received a lot of tunes from this guy, and I have just one thing to say: this is by far the most talented musician in the 'scene'. His melodies are just great; he has a feeling that couldn't be better. The samples are unbelievable; I wonder how. Even in his old songs, they keep a good standard. The sample-rate must be close to the max. They fit wonderful to each other and give you the 'aha'-feeling once in a second. He always know how and when to stop a solo and he never gets lost in the massive jamming. The bassline is very well arranged. He never gives us an unnecessary note. It consists of samples very much alike but though different that gives it a special touch of nice ambience. In the tune 'Nowhere Whenever' he goes loose with a bassolo; he succeed very well. I can't imagine that no other Amigamusician ever will be as good! The drums are well programmed and sometimes when you think that he won't play them at all, he plays them anyway in a way that makes you go 'oh!' and at the same time make you wonder why you didn't think about that. But the drums in some tunes are not very worked through, and that is a shame because he can if he wants to. ¶The chords and voices are extremely well chosen and very powerful indeed. Sometimes he puts some extra sounds into the loops, and when others fail to make it sound right, Heatbeat ofcourse make it the right way. Everything is just soo nice! Heatbeat seems to be a fan of sampled sequences; in Rain Forest he has sampled a sequence in different notes and puts a perfect leadinstrument to it; the only word to describe the way he is doing it on 4 channels is genius. A good musician wouldn't be as good if he couldn't do experiments. Heatbeat succeed with more experiments and newthinking songs than the others makes ordinary tunes! I don't think I have to say much more; I think you're clear about my point when it comes to my favorite who has proven that 4 channels are enough to make real music. And I think he is the only one in the scene. ³Diesel's comment: ¹I don't have anything more to say. I totally agree with Andreas.
